Pop's most famous bad sport stormed the stage Sunday night at the MTV Video Music Awards to interrupt country teen queen Taylor Swift as she was accepting her award for Best Female Video.

West boorishly declared that another singer in the category should have won.

"I'm sorry," said West, "but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time."

Swift looked shaken on stage and a source said she cried backstage.

anye West apologized for yet another outburst at the MTV Video Music Awards, this time directed at country-pop sweetheart Taylor Swift. The disruption upstaged not just Swift's awards speech, but the entire evening, including an emotional tribute to Michael Jackson.

In a rare conciliatory moment, West took to his blog to apologize. In a standard all-capital letters message, West said: "I'M SOOOOO SORRY TO TAYLOR SWIFT AND HER FANS AND HER MOM. I SPOKE TO HER MOTHER RIGHT AFTER AND SHE SAID THE SAME THING MY MOTHER WOULD'VE SAID. SHE IS VERY TALENTED!"

West - who has flipped out after losing at the VMAs, the Grammys, the American Music Awards and more - again took umbrage Sunday night when the awards process didn't go the way he wanted it to go. This time, it was on behalf of Beyonce.

ET has learned that moments after country music starlet Taylor Swift revealed on ABC's "The View" that Kanye West had not personally apologized to her for their tense moment at the "2009 MTV Video Music Awards" -- the rap star phoned in to the show's studio and spoke directly with Taylor.

Kanye spoke to Taylor, 19, over the phone and offered his apology for interrupting her acceptance speech on Sunday night's VMA show -- and ET has learned that she accepted his apology.

"Kanye did call me and he was very sincere in his apology, and I accepted that apology," Taylor told ABC News Radio. '
