Ok so maybe the title was a little fib, they haven't technically gone under, they've just gone legit.
Mininova today officially called it quits with illegally distributing copyright material by introducing filters to block copyright content from being uploaded.
Commonly known as the second biggest free torrent tracker in the world, Mininova has been under a lot of pressure from court rulings to implement copyright filters or take the website offline. Although they have taken their time, after the courts ruled against them in August 2009.
Rather than use specific filters to block uploaded content, which would be impossible to block 100% of copyright material, they have introduced a limited content distribution method, only allowing specific material on the site.
Slowly but surely, the RIAA/MPAA lawsuits and court rulings are taking down the torrent world, site by site.
