1 Windows.old on Tue Dec 15, 2009 2:48 am

I recently upgraded from Vista 32 bit to Windows 7 64 bit. When doing so, it saved my previous windows files in the Windows.old file. I don't want these files. I wanted to clean install Windows 7. I also believe that it may have kept my old OS on the system. All I want is Windows 7 on this computer. The files in Windows.old may contain malicious software that I don't want to effect my current OS. Can I get some help on removal of my old OS and this Windows.old folder?

Actually, just right-click on Windows.old and delete it.

Tell me if this works.

Well it took a bit, but it deleted the folder. Not sure of any adverse effects, but it's gone. Thanks for the help. Just wasn't sure if it was safe to just up and delete it. Awesome site you have here and very helpful.
