Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

• Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  
• If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  
• Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  
• The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  
• When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  
• Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  
• When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Note)
  
• The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  

Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts.
Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process.
If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

P2P(Peer to peer) applications are designed to help you easily share and distribute files between you and a group of people. But they can also be used to distribute malware, and thus are not considered safe.
The removal of these programs is optional, but highly recommended.

Go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove the following programs.

How is the machine running now?

Son of a gun! I KNEW that stuff from 360 something or other was to blame! But no, they kept blaming other stuff on my computer. All I was trying to do was download a copy of Mater National for my son. Against my better judgement, I used the μTorrent.

No worries. I only had to demand my money back 3 times before they got the message and gave me my refund. I just ordered the silly games off Ebay - at least I know they're knew games and shouldn't harm my computer (or my son's - I was just test-driving it on mine 'cause I knew he'd be furious if his didn't work). I just didn't want to invest in a game console that will soon become obsolete and that I'm not sure my son will continue to be interested in. Yeah - like he's NOT going to be interested in playing video games. I can dream, can't I?

Not really sure if my computer's running any better since the error was only encountered when I tried to open stuff downloaded from the site in question. Fingers crossed.

RegCure is actually a legit program, but it's a registry cleaner and they can be dangerous - should they delete a key that is needed by Windows, then zip, that's the end of your OS.
