You manually created a new System Restore point once the infections were cleaned off, as I instructed, right?

After you manually created the restore point, was when you installed updates?

Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore.

Restore your computer back one Restore Point.

If you have trouble deciding which Restore Point, take a screenshot of the System Restore points that are listed, and upload it to Imageshack.us. Post the picture here.

Basically the above screenshot is the recommended restore.

This screenshot above is the options provided when I click on "choose a different restore point"

I am confused on which one to do so that is why I uploaded them.

Thanks

Ok. The one to do is the last one listed there:
Install: Installed WOT for Internet Explorer.

Hello,

I did the recommended restore but made no difference, so now I will undo that restorie and do what you have instructed.

I did the recommended restore because I wanted to sort the problem out quicly but that didnt help.

Also here's some info that I gathered which can possibly help,
I opened rescource monitor and clicked on the CPU tab and it showed me that "host process for windows services" was using alot of the CPU; is this anything to do with the host file I download?

Thanks your help is much appreciated

No, it has to do with the Windows Updates.

Wait to do them.

How is the computer running? Still lagging?

Hello,

I haven't installed the updates yet as I turned of the computer yesterday but the update icon is still displayed on the tray.

When turning on the computer today it took its time (it was the first time since doing the restore) and when It loaded up the desktop the CPU usuage was high but after 5-10 minutes it was running approximately fast.

Thanks

CPU usage will be high when Windows loads. But, after a little bit of time it was fine, then there is no performance issue now.

I need to know one thing, to help me research this issue with Windows Updates...do you install them all the time?

If so, then the issue will be easy to identify.
