Kaspersky Internet Security is not free. It is a very good security suite that has all features needed to be secure, but it is far from free.

i understand it is not free. I meant is the trial version safe to use for a bit because i wan to test it out before i get it. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Would microsoft security essentials be a good alternative and using windows firewall or defender ?

The trial is safe for KIS.

For Microsoft Security Essentials, I suppose it is ok. But, there are better products out there.

Windows Defender is not really updated anymore.

If you get anything right now, either get Avira AntiVir Free, or KIS free trial.
