do you think by completely wiping the hard disk clean will resolve my problems?

It appears that you have too many security programs running at once, which is probably the cause of system slowdown.

I suggest you either remove McAfee and Spybot, and keep AVG. Or, remove AVG and Spybot, and keep McAfee.

Keeping all of those on your system is allowing them to run, and causing system slowdown, and RAM issues.

With that said, the computer is also completely clean.

If you choose to make the above decision, please let me know and how your computer is running after the modification.

And no, wiping the hard disk is probably not going to help, since the computer is clean.

hello,

I've removed AVG and Spybot; I've kept Mcafee; when mcafee runs out what software should I use to protect my computer is AVG good?

O'yer the computer seems much better than before I would say on a whole and I've still got Microsoft security essentials but disabled: does that make a difference to the system>?

thanks

AVG is good.

As long as Microsoft Security Essentials is disabled, it is ok.

Are you satisfied with the way the computer runs?

Hello ok I will use AVG once Mcafee expires. I would say that I am not completely satisfied with my computer because it still is slow and programmes very often stop responding. why does my disk space keep changing: decreasing and increasing every time I start my computer? thanks Neutral Neutral Neutral

Seems like some stability issues.

Go to Start > search Windows Update and make sure you have all current updates installed.

If so, then do the following:

Please download DragonFix by DragonMaster Jay, and save it to your Desktop. Right click and Extract All, and save the files to your Desktop.
  • Please disable realtime protection. The only realtime protection that gets in the way and need to be disabled: Windows Defender, Microsoft Security Essentials, Spybot TeaTimer, WinPatrol, and Ad-Aware AdWatch. If you have anyone of those, please disable them.
  • Double-click DragonFix.reg, and follow the prompt(s).
  • Please reboot your computer.

Hello,
I did as you instructed; what was the above process supposed to do and how is it going to help my computer because what I gathered from the process was that it added a registry key? Rolling Eyes Neutral

It had fixed the damages due to malware and sped up quite a few things that work in the background. Windows frequently has certain settings turned off, and it is a user's choice to turn them on, via guidance of expert.

Has this helped the speed of your computer?

Hello,

Certainly it has helped the speed of the computer because everything seems to be running more quicker, Is there anything else that can be done to help the speed?

I've asked you about removing Uniblue software before but were focused on a different issue at the time but anyway the problem with the Uniblue software is that I am unable to remove it from Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features and also from the Uniblue programmes folder because there is no ".exe" for uninstalling the software. confused No

Thanks

Ok. I am going to try to put together an uninstaller for those products.

I should have it done by today. Smile

Please download Uniblue Remover: http://hmoslabs.webs.com/Uniblue-Remover.zip

Extract it, then double-click on Uniblue-remove.cmd

It will do its process automatically. Confirm any prompts.

At the end, it will launch a log, titled unremo.txt

Please post the contents of that log in your next reply, please.

Odd.

Run the uniblue-registry.cmd then reboot the computer.

Afterward, you probably will have a broken install of Uniblue products, so all the files and folders should be deleted.

We need to show hidden files/folders

  • Right Click Start
  • Select Explore
  • Select Organize
  • Select Folder and Search Options
  • Select the View tab
  • Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
  • Uncheck the Hide extensions for known file types option.
  • Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
  • Click yes to confirm that you really want to do this.
  • Click Apply
  • Click OK

Using Windows Explorer (to get there right-click your Start button and go to "Explore"), please delete these folders (if present):

C:\programfiles\uniblue
c:\programdata\DriverScanner
c:\programdata\RegistryBooster
c:\programdata\SpeedUpMyPC
c:\users\hussains\AppData\Roaming\Uniblue
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Uniblue

Please reboot your computer again. Then, let me know if they are gone for good. Also, let me know how your computer is running.
