I unsubscribed to every bad mailing I got from spammers, and I have not had one spammer send mail to me in over four months.

I'm in the processes of doing the same, instead of just deleting the spam I'm marking it at spam and that way it gets deleted automatically.

I'm also in the process of migrating 5 email address to just one, so when their received they get sorted into separate folders, then i can decided what i want to keep, e.g. HMOS emails, and then I'll change the contact email address for that site to my new one so I'll only get what i want and the rest can go to the old addresses which will be canceled.
