Microsoft has announced that the Internet Explorer 9 beta version will be released on September 15. Accordingly, the company is also going to arrange a special event in San Francisco.

The web browser, which is 15 years old now, will be compatible with Windows 7 and Windows Vista only.

Microsoft launched the first version of the Internet Explorer (IE1) on August 16,1995.

Currently, the IE holds the first place with 60.74% in the web browser market. Firefox and Google Chrome follow the chart with 22.91% and 7.16% respectively.

Microsoft could hold the top positions thanks to its availability as the default web browser for Windows-based PCs.

The IE9 is expected to strengthen its position as a dominant player again.

What could be possibly different with a new version?
