Memory issue is probably apparent.

Reboot your computer, and when you see the first screen, press the Spacebar to access the boot manager. Once there, use the arrow key to go down to Windows Memory Diagnostic.

Please let the test run. When finished, let me know of the results.

Note: if the Spacebar does not activate the boot manager, then try again, except press the F8 key three times.

My computer has restarted from that, and the instructions stated that I would have the result when I got back on. I cannot find the report on it.

Also, I think it was during my last BSOD that I noticed what message displayed - and this may be what you already know - it stated that I should check for faulty or mismatched memory and that I should try changing video adapters. I can't help thinking that it's something that I'm doing to this thing......

There are issues with how the memory is communicating with the motherboard.

You may need to replace RAM as soon as possible.

The "Concierge Service" that is available to me (because of where I purchased this computer) walked me through a system recovery. I'll let you know if that took care of the issue. They told me to do as I usually do until Monday, when they will call me to see if the BSOD has shown up or not. I told them what you thought it was, and they used that info to tell me that we should try the recovery first. At this point, I've installed only: Antivir, SASW, OPERA browser, Mozilla Thunderbird email. I am using the Windows Firewall (let me know if you think that is not sufficient), and the only other thing that installed was JAVA. Thanks for all your help.

RAM can go bad. Especially if the computer is used a lot, RAM can deteriorate and require replacement.

Since completing the system recovery I've only had a couple blue screens, both of them being in recent days. I've also stopped using Firefox. I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it or not. I think everything else is the same, with the exception of Zone Alarm not being used anymore.
