Every time i try to open one of my shortcuts i.e disc cleaner it says this file does not have a program associated with it,this morning when i went on you tube i tried to convert a video onto mp3 then all of a sudden my firewall stopped me going any further then a malaware was detected.
i couldnt get access to internet because it said firefox proxy settings was preventing me from doing so, i then went to settings and changed it to no proxy settings ,then i can now get access to internet,but cant open any other shortcuts. Can anyone please tell me how to do this.

i had a friends laptop do this recently. if you can, try doing a system restore and back up your system to a date before the issues started to occur. in my friends case, i backed his system up 2 weeks and everything was working fine again. hope this helps.

worst case, you could always do a fresh install of windows. Its not quite as painful a process as it used to be. by the way, what operating system are you running that is having this issue?

also, if you dont have Avast antivirus installed, perhaps try installing it and running a boot scan. may possibly help and its a free program.

windows xp and using avg free but can't get into that .
