Background
Originating in 2003 from 4chan, imageboard pathetically known for causing widespread moral/civil issues across the Internet, Anonymous created themselves with the intention of cyber-civil disobedience and hacktivism (subform of activism).
The groups common interests include 4chan, Futaba, Encyclopædia Dramatica, as well as many other forums, wikis, and "misbehaved" imageboards.
Their strong involvement in WikiLeaks, based on whom is against WikiLeaks *that is*, has caused major wonders with security experts as in whom do these major "cybergang members" report to?
From wanting to DDoS Facebook to making strong ransomed demands to several companies. Either A. the company keeps their website online and pays the ransom, or B. the request is ignored and Anonymous attempts takedown.
The organization has their own logo styles of Fawkes masks, to their signature slogan "We are Anonymous. We are Legion. We do not forgive. We do not forget. Expect us."
Most members of Anonymous apparently (per aggregation of online reports) consist of IRC/imageboard/forum users from ages 16-26.
The main information provider about the group, or more: "inner publicity" is labeled as AnonOps.
