Organizations across the Internet reported crashes interrupting service on BIND 9 nameservers performing recursive queries.

The Internet Systems Consortium has released an advisory to address a vulnerability that can cause a denial-of-service attack, if exploited.

Administrators are told to apply patches, addressed in the original vulnerability advisory here: http://www.isc.org/software/bind/advisories/cve-2011-4313

If your DNS services require BIND 9, it is recommended to follow through with installing the patches immediately.
