Anonymous has issued their verbal warning staging a DDoS attack on Facebook beginning January 28, 2012.
This attack is to be done with Low Orbit Ion Cannon (LOIC), a network stress-testing software, now in the public domain. It is considered a legal software that can be used by criminals to commit fraudulent or damaging activities. Servers that have well-written firewall rules should be able to counterattack most used by LOIC, making its payload weak.
