Cyberwarfare is heating up, and because of this, many leaks and other data have been exposed over the past few years by Anonymous and other hacktivist groups.
However, Anonymous is not the only group embracing information leaks and other items of interest. Government hackers in India, among other countries, have made attempts and plans to hack into US Commission's email account(s) to gain information about relations between the US and China. Story here.
Over the past five years, organizations have fell victim to cyberattacks formed by the movement: Operation Shady RAT. This study was done back in August by McAfee and reported public by Reuters.
With attempted movements like the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and Protect Intellectual Property Act (PIPA), along with additional measures stated back in 2009, it is all to help stop the cyberwar and slow it down.
Other notes that include cyberwarfare:
-Government arrests made to imprison or fine infringing peoples for copyright or intellectual property theft.
-Hacking groups attempting to take down government or worldwide technological companies' websites (OperationBlackouts) temporarily to "send a message" or protest.
-Occupy Movements by Anonymous groups to either do as above and occupy a website's server, or protest in public in various Occupy movements.
-Government issues with electrical power grids and security of servers operating certain grids.
