What you need:
Pre-install tasks
Clean Installation

- 64 bit processor
- Windows XP x64 edition CD
- A computer with CD-ROM access
Pre-install tasks
- To start this Windows install. First check that the first boot device in your system BIOS is set to the CD-ROM Drive.
- Change the boot order according to the instructions on screen.
- The system bios can usually be entered on boot, usually by pressing the F1, F2, F8, F10 or DEL key. Make sure you save the settings before exiting
Clean Installation
- Insert the Windows XP x64 CD in to your readied computer, and allow it to boot. If you get a message: "Press any key to boot from CD" then hit any button on your keyboard.
- The setup will inspect your computer and prepare for install. When you get to a screen that says Welcome to Setup, hit enter to continue.
- Read the license agreement then press F8 to continue.
- At the next screen, you should see a table that shows the partition that it will be installed on. Press enter to continue.
- Your computer will format, initialize setup, and then reboot. If there are any prompts, make sure you answer them.
- Allowing Windows to reboot, it will boot back in to the GUI (graphic user interface) to finish set up (takes the longest).
- Follow the setup prompts and make sure you have the settings you want, then enter your license key, which is found in the same package with your XP CD.
- Follow and answer any more prompts.
- When setup finishes, it will reboot. Remove the CD from the drive, change the boot order back to the way you had it earlier, and launch in to Windows. While launching in to Windows you may have a prompt to change screen resolution, click OK.
