ShadowExplorer

WHAT IS IT?
ShadowExplorer shows you the shadow copies created by the
Windows Vista Volume Shadow Copy Service. It's especially designed for
users of both of the Windows Vista Home editions, who don't have access to the shadow copies
by default. This tool is also useful for users of other editions of Windows Vista.

FEATURES:

  • Shows available point-in-time copies
  • Browse through shadow copies
  • Retrieve versions of files and folders
  • Recovers lost files -- which may have been accidentally deleted

PROCESS

  1. Download ShadowExplorer and save it to your desktop
Double-click the icon to start the setup

  2. Continue through set up then click finish.
  3. Start ShadowExplorer

  4. You will see drive letters in a drop down. When you click on the drive that you need, the most recent shadow copy will be displayed. There is also a time drop down, which reads in the format: '2/10/2009 11:32:01' -- you can select the time that you want to go back to so you can obtain shadow copies.
