Drawing a grid perfectly to model graphic images
Overview
This guide will teach you how to make a perfected hand-drawn grid to model graphic images.
Tools Needed
- Bristol Paper (Board like material), 4H Pencil (art stores sell them), Micron Pen (Pigma), Ruler
Process
- Using the Bristol Paper and a 4H pencil: lightly draw points, measure using the ruler. Draw each point 1 inch apart from each other, vertically and horizontally, on all four sides. Make a total of nine points horizontally (includes start point and end point), which makes 8 boxes. Make a total of 7 points vertically, which makes 6 boxes. In total, you will have 48 boxes to work with! Then, draw in the lines, measuring from point-to-point drawing straight up and down, side to side.
- Make sure each box is exactly 1 inch x 1 inch.
- Using the ruler, draw in the lines again over top of the penciled lines, using the Micron Pen.
You now have a grid to model graphic images.
