Why does Windows set a 'Dirty' flag on you when CHKDSK is ran?
-Dirty flagging a file system:
What a dirty flag is not: pornography stored on a user's computer.
-Dirty flagging a file system:
- Done by Microsoft to indicate that Windows still needs to fix your hard disk. Sort of similar to unfinished business.
- Your file system writes data to the hard disk at fast rates. Rarely, this data write can get interrupted. Interruption can be caused by power outages, Data Execution Prevention, and many other possible write-failures.
- Windows is constantly writing files to your hard disk. Any termination of any file can cause the disk to become dirty.
- IMPROPERLY SHUTTING DOWN WINDOWS. WINDOWS SHOULD ALWAYS BE SHUT DOWN FROM THE START MENU!
What a dirty flag is not: pornography stored on a user's computer.
