Get a better battery. Go to eBay, and look for batteries. Good batteries sell, for example, like a 77-watt-hour, eight-cell battery. Nine-cell batteries are a great advantage and you can show off to your friends that you have the better battery. Talk about great geek life (if that matters to you).
Upgrade your operating system. The biggest recommendation is to upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7. If you are on Ubuntu, then get the Ubuntu Netbook Remix, if you do not have it. The best OS for a netbook, as it stands, is indeed Ubuntu Netbook Remix, due to its current optimization for netbooks. Ubuntu has shown care for netbook users. :thumbsup3: (or you can dual boot Windows and Ubuntu, your choice Use GParted - Search for instructions)
Upgrade your SSD. Windows has the file and settings transfer programs, so the opportunity is endless to upgrade. Get a much larger SSD, transfer your data, then wipe the old drive. After you wipe the old drive, sell it, to regain some cash.
Upgrade the RAM. Get 2GB in that machine. Forget the 512MB or 1GB. Remove those and set in a 2GB piece. Most netbooks carry DDR2-SODIMM. Why not make your own gaming netbook (careful
)?
Get a new, better frequency, compatible network card. With new technology such as Draft-N, get a new card. Make sure it is compatible, then install it for better frequency. You will not be disappointed.
