Safely setting services to manual in Windows XP




The following is a list of services that can be set to manual in Windows XP. Keep in mind, this is only a tweaking tutorial.

Right click on your My Computer icon, either on your desktop or in the start menu. Then click manage. Now go to Services & Applications > Services.


SAFE SERVICES TO SET TO MANUAL
Exclamation WARNING Exclamation
Services should be set to manual. Never disable a
service. HMOS is not responsible for any data loss, corruption, or
damage to your version of Windows XP.



  • Windows Time

  • Secondary Logon
  • Print Spooler ::: If you do not have a printer

  • Computer Browser ::: If your computer is not on a network
  • TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper
  • Remote Registry
  • Alerter
  • Distributed Link Tracking Client
  • Indexing Service
  • Uninterruptible Power Supply
  • Upload Manager
  • Wireless Zero Configuration ::: if you do not use a Wireless adapter
  • Fast User Switching capability
  • Internet Connection/Internet Connection Sharing
